In Water Assessment
An in-water assessment may be requested to decide whether it is worth taking a boat out of the water for a full survey. This could save time and money on lifting, slipping or docking costs. An insurance company may require a full survey, but only a hull survey was carried out, so an in water assessment can ‘top-up’ the existing survey.
If the decision is made to complete a Pre-purchase Survey, the price will be adjusted as the internal inspection will have already been done. It will be slightly more in all than a pre-purchase due to spending two days on-site.
The price of an in-water assessment again varies depending on the situation, vessel type and location; Assessments start at £350.
